LATE NOVEMBER :: Trivia! The entire movie was written around the idea of Case being shot into the water. The original torture scene included Alex breaking Brent's hand by slamming the briefcase repeatedly on his fingers, but we couldn't get the special effects up to par. The film was shot in one night, very sporadically from 6 PM to about 4 AM. One of the three movies filmed as Ideopia Studios (before trademark disputes killed that name). All of the sound was added in post production, except for the echo of Alex's voice and the sound of Alex picking up the gun. The title is utterly meaningless. The reference to it being in November was added in post production to make it have some sort of logic. Case did all his own stunts. All of the guns used are Airsoft guns (air powered BB guns). The torture effects on Brent (the black eye, blood, etc.) were all done with ketchup and eye shadow. The whole thing was basically filmed without script (as the storyboard Alex made was utterly confusing and unreadable). Can you tell? Max was originally supposed to have been shot in the pier footage, but we realized in post production that he hadn't reacted to being shot, so it had to be cut. The car is Connor's Volvo. For the torture scene, Brent had to remain tied in the chair for over two hours. The house that Brent drives to was just a random house that we parked in front of at 3:30 AM. The documents in the briefcase are mostly Case's homework and some identification papers from Japan. Brent saying "nice coat... wouldn't want to get blood all over it" is a reference to Sin City, but only Brent (who suggested the line) was actually aware at the time. Mako Oiye was present during filming, but arrived too late to get a part. We considered making a "family friendly" version (without all the swearing), but decided it was too much work. Due to technical difficulties (Alex's computer not working and the sound all having to be re-dubbed), production of this film took roughly two months. The original ending for the movie had paramedics coming and saving Brent after the credits, but the sound effects proved too difficult.
