There are a lot of people around the world who complain about students these days having bad grammar and spelling, usually because of instant messenger. The spelling and grammar of students these days may be atrocious, but IM is not the reason. Luckily for instant messenger users, I have uncovered the truth: it is Microsoft Spelling and Grammar Check's fault. Observe:

Imagine you're a student with a shaky grasp of grammar and you see those ubiquitous squiggly green lines; who are you to question Microsoft Word? Microsoft Grammar claims it's a "verb-tense disagreement." What fifth or sixth grader would know better?
