REDEMPTION :: Trivia!
  • Redemption was filmed at Sun Lakes, in Eastern Washington state, over a three day camping trip.
  • Aside from travel costs, the budget for this film was very low (around $30). Most of the pieces of the costumes were already owned by the actors, who seem to just like dressing up like gunslingers. The only props acquired specifically for the movie were the burial box, its contents and the preacher's leather bag.
  • This is the first film where we actually used the sound as recorded on the tape, thanks to the relative quiet of the environment. In our other projects, we've had to rerecord every line and sound effect.
  • The blood used is a mixture of water, dirt, and black cherry Kool-Ade.
  • The title was picked after filming (as with Late November).
  • Two major inspirations for Redemption were The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly and Once Upon a Time in the West. The name of the lake is a reference to 'The Ugly.'
  • Contrary to what this movie would have you believe, smoking is not totally badass. In reality, it's only a little bit nifty.
  • The cigarettes used are hand rolled natural tobacco cigarettes, using pure tobacco and Zig-Zag rolling papers. Neither Case nor Brent actually smoke in real life, nor do they have any desire to after experiencing the taste of cigarettes shot after shot.
  • The guns are all different types of fakes. The rifle is an air rifle (a.k.a. a BB gun), the sheriff's holstered revolver is an airsoft gun, and the other revolver is a reproduction (a non-working model).
  • This is our first movie in which green-screening (or, as they call it these days, chroma-keying) was used. It was used in shots where the contrast caused the sky to be glaringly white instead of its proper blue, though it wasn't used every time.
  • Originally, we were going to work in the line "I wish I knew how to quit you," but we decided it would detract from the mood.
